Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Donor Network Alliance?
We are an affiliation of egg donor agencies from around the country with the aim of sharing one of our critical resources – our egg donor candidates – to more effectively meet the needs of our clients.

Why is DNA important?
Intended Parents undergoing fertility treatments typically work with one egg donor agency and have access to only its egg donor candidates. Through DNA, they now have access to a single Web site, to the donors of many participating agencies. This puts the Intended Parents in control of the egg donor search process, allowing them to quickly and easily review the field of candidates according to the characteristics that are most important to them. There's no longer the need to contact multiple agencies or be bothered with keeping track of different usernames and passwords for each. Plus, having a wider field to choose from in a single location increases the chances of finding the right egg donor match faster.

How does it work?
DNA is powered through a comprehensive online database that allows agency members to upload profiles of anonymous donor candidates for subscribers to sort through and view according to a variety of search parameters. Descriptions of each candidate are posted alongside their agencies, which are identified by name and location. The agency identifier includes a feature allowing subscribers to e-mail to request further information. The agency takes it from there. Searches can be saved. “Favorites” can be flagged.

How many egg donors populate the DNA database?
Typically, the mid-sized agency will have between 100 and 200 egg donor candidates in its database. We anticipate that by the end of our first year of operation, DNA's database will have 10 times those numbers.

Do people have to be clients of a participating agency to subscribe?
No. When you do identify a donor, you will work with her agency. Your physician's office will be able to coordinate with your selected donor and her agency as well.

What is the charge to use DNA?
The fee is $49 for a two-week term of use. We make it easy for you to sign up and immediately begin your search by using Paypal.
